Giveaways: The Wicked Wives by Gus Pelagatti

Synopsis:
"Wicked Wives" is based on the true story of the 1938 Philadelphia murder scandals in which seventeen wives were arrested for murdering their husbands. Mastermind conspirator Giorgio DiSipio, a stunning lothario and local tailor who preys upon disenchanted and unfaithful wives, convinces twelve of them to kill their spouses for insurance money. The murder conspiracy is very successful until one lone assistant D.A., Tom Rossi, uncovers the plot and brings the perpetrators to justice. "Wicked Wives" is a story made for Hollywood, combining murder, corruption, treachery, love, lust and phenomenal detail as it vividly captures Depression-era Philadelphia.

*************
The Wicked Wives has a dynamic ending that will keep you spell bound. The over whelming majority of the wives either pled or were found guilty. But, although they were sentenced to death in the electric chair, how many  wives do you suppose were executed?

Seriously, how good would you have to be in the sack to convince 17 women to kill their husbands? That's amazing and I gotta give Giorgio some credit.

Read the book The Wicked Wives and it was a Wicked ride. After I started on the book, I couldn't put the book down. Clearly, only a lawyer can have such insight to an insurance scam. Although there were some typos in the book, the book was an easy read, although you might get confused due to the number of characters in the story, it was still a delightful ride. Some explicit sexual content but not in a vulgar sense.

Can't really believe it, are Italians really that good??? (in bed) hahaha

Still I was a little miffed about the Hope Daniel plot. Story really didn't explain her relationship with the asst. DA. My take on the story is that Hope was planning on doing a murder-insurance scam on Tom Rossi but she eventually and truly fell in love with him which is why she eventually broke it up since she couldn't bring herself to kill Tom.

Anyway, an entertaining book none the less. Read it and I an sure you'll enjoy it.
